Law firm IT in Dallas-Fort Worth

The fake wire email came in. Nobody bit. Most IT companies’ phishing plan: “Be careful.”

Forward it to us before anyone wires a dollar. We make your email hard to fake, too.

We run the document systems and email behind filing day. When your e-filing provider says to call someone else, we make that call.

  • The document systems and email.

The ones filing day depends on.

  • We make that call.

When your e-filing provider says to call someone else.

  • A legal hold that actually holds.

It has to stop scheduled deletion.

Windows Server 2016 security updates stop January 12, 2027. If one of yours runs it, plan the move now. What that means

Texas lawyer rules, on the IT side

Client files can live in the cloud. Not behind a login a former employee still has.

Four rules, one by one
  • Keeping up

Comment 8 to Rule 1.01 asks lawyers to keep up with the benefits and risks of relevant technology. Ask us where yours is weak.

  • Client confidences

Rule 1.05 is the confidentiality rule, and in practice it lives in the mailbox and the document system. Multi-factor authentication wherever it’s supported, email filtering, endpoint protection watched around the clock, and access that ends when someone leaves.

  • Files in the cloud

Ethics Opinion 680 allows client files in the cloud with reasonable precautions. We check the settings and who can open what.

  • Trust account records

Rule 1.15 says trust account records are kept for five years after the representation ends. Make sure scheduled deletion can’t take them first.

What we check first, from the mailbox to the trust account.

The filing accounts outlast the people who opened them.

Every federal filer needs their own PACER account. When someone leaves, we revoke the access we control and tell you which accounts only the court or provider can close.

A legal hold must stop scheduled deletion.

In Microsoft 365, an eDiscovery hold takes precedence over retention settings for the content it covers. Ask for a demonstration before a matter depends on it.

Email working is not proof that drafting survived.

Microsoft says macros are only available in the Word desktop app. Check each integration before a move to browser-only Office.

When a mailbox is breached, Texas starts two clocks.

Once the firm knows sensitive personal information got out (section 521.053): the people affected, without unreasonable delay and inside 60 days. At 250 Texans or more, the Attorney General too, as soon as practicable and inside 30. On systems we manage, we help work out which mailbox was reached.

Switching IT companies with a filing deadline open? How we take over

AI in a law firm

2026About six hours of chronology work, now about 35 minutes

About 6 hours to about 35 minutes for the first draft. Every fact links back to its document and page. Attorneys verify everything.

How it worked

A commercial litigation firm was staring at years of emails, contracts, accounting records and deposition transcripts. We set up a secure document system for that one matter. AI pulled out dates, people, amounts and statements that contradicted each other, and every fact in the draft chronology links back to its original document and page. An attorney can ask, “Show every time the payment deadline changed,” and get a list of evidence to check. The attorneys still verify everything. The first draft of the chronology went from about six hours to about 35 minutes.

How we build it

We test the drafting tools, not just the email.
