Dental practice IT in Dallas-Fort Worth

Full schedule today. Every X-ray has to load.

Open Dental · Schick · Patterson

We deal with the imaging vendor, so your staff doesn’t have to.

The server, sensors and practice software have to work together. When the imaging vendor points back at the practice software, we call both.

  • We call both vendors.

When the imaging vendor points back at the practice software.

  • We run the restore.

Instead of relying on the backup report.

  • The chipset before the sensor.

AI in a dental practice

2025Treatment recommended, then never scheduled

About $74,000 of treatment completed in six months.

How it worked

The dentists were busy and production still wasn’t growing. Patients left with treatment plans, and a lot of them never scheduled the work. We went through the practice’s unscheduled treatment reports, treatment codes, appointment histories and past patient messages. AI sorted every open plan by treatment type and how long it had been sitting, so coordinators worked a prioritized list instead of sending everyone the same reminder. Clinical urgency, open chair time and patient preferences set the order, and coordinators made every contact using templates the practice approved. Over six months, patients accepted and completed about $74,000 of treatment that might otherwise still be on the list.

How we build it

Windows Server 2016 security updates stop January 12, 2027. If one of yours runs it, plan the move now. What that means

What we check first in an operatory.

Heard what happened down the road?

If ransomware hit tonight, would your backups bring back the schedule, the charts and the X-rays? We run the restore to find out, and a staffed security center watches every system we manage around the clock.

Ask if yours would come back

The chart opens. The image does not.

The practice software vendor says the imaging bridge is fine. The imaging vendor says the sensor tests good on their bench. Both can be right while your patient is still waiting.

Check the chipset before the sensor.

Two workstations bought a year apart are not the same computer. Patterson recommends Intel USB chipsets for Schick digital X-ray devices, so check the chipset before you buy a replacement.

The claim needs that image too.

Clicking Send does not tell you whether that handoff worked. We trace the route with your billing person and the vendor.

A backup is not a restore.

Open Dental stores scanned and imported files in its A to Z folders, separately from the patient database. We keep backups separate and run the restore instead of relying on the report.

HIPAA, on the IT side

The sensors can open perfectly and still sit on a network the wrong person can reach. We check who can get in and what they can reach, from the operatory to the imaging store.

We sign a Business Associate Agreement before we touch anything.

Four rules, one by one
  • Guest access

Guest Wi-Fi belongs on its own network. We test that it can’t reach the computers that hold patient records.

  • Documentation and recovery

We write down what runs where, who has access and how it comes back. Then we test the restore.

  • Daily safeguards

A full SOC watches your computers 24/7/365. Multi-factor sign-in, email filtering, patching, and backups ransomware can’t reach.

  • Audits

We do your yearly security risk analysis and keep the IT evidence ready: who has access, multi-factor, encryption, backups and restore tests, patching, the incident log. When an auditor or your insurer asks the IT questions, we answer them or join the call. We help with the IT policies and staff training too.

Check the computer before replacing the sensor.
